Jefferson and Florence (LeVan) Leibenguth. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church,
Cherryville. She belonged to many civic organizations and held various offices. Survivors:

Sterling K. Leibenguth, 69, of Allentown, died Friday in the home of his
daughter, Patricia Friedman, with whom he resided. He was the husband of Josephine R.
(Gentilcore) Leibenguth, who died last June. He was assistant building inspector for the
City of Allentown from 1964 until retiring in 1982. Prior to that, he was a carpenter for
the former E.C. Machin Contracting Co., Bethlehem, for 40 years. Born in Allentown, he was
a son of the late Stewart B. and Carrie (Rodenbach) Leibenguth. He was a Coast Guard
veteran of World War II. He was a 32nd degree mason with the Lehigh Consistory, Valley of
Allentown, and Jordan Lodge 73, F&AM. A past president of the Lehigh Shrine Club, he
was an organizer of the local shrine Hillbilly Chapter and served as raban of the clan,
1981-83. He was past secretary and treasurer of the Duffer Golf League at Allentown
Municipal Gold Course. Survivors: Daughter; son, Sterling J. of Seattle, Wash.; brothers,
Grant of Emmaus and Martin of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; sister Dorothy, wife of Raymond

Chad Carl Leibenguth, 22, of 3215 E. Columbia St., Whitehall Township, died
Saturday, Aug. 10, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, following a motorcycle
accident on Route 145, Whitehall Township. He was a computer programmer for Aetna
Insurance Co., Allentown. He was president of the Theta Chi fraternity at Lycoming
College, Williamsport, where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in computer
science and mathematics last year. Leibenguth was a 1991 graduate of Whitehall-Coplay High
School, where he was president of the Key Club. Born in Allentown, he was a son of Carl
Leibenguth of Slatington and Karen (Schmidt) Leibenguth Dax, with whom he resided, and a
stepson of Louis Dax. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Catasauqua.

in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Helen A. Roth. He was
a mechanic at Mack Trucks, Allentown, for 32 years until retiring in 1986. Born in
Palmerton, he was a son of the late LaRue Sr. and Elerta (Stahler) Leibenguth. He was a
Navy veteran of World War II. A member of the United Auto Workers, Allentown Local 677, he
was chief steward for 10 years, vice-president for six years and director of health and
safety for six years. Leibebguth was also union representative to area organizations
including the Sacred Heart Hospital board of directors, Red Cross, Hospital Central
Services, Big Brothers, Eastern Pennsylvania Health Maintenance Organization, National

Ralph E. Livengood, 86, of Irwin, (formerly of Vanderbilt), passed away Saturday
morning, Jan. 16, 1999, at 10:20 a.m. in the William Penn Care Center, Penn Township.
Ralph was born in Masontown, Pa., Oct. 14, 1912, a son of the late Clarence C. and Edith
Moorhead Livengood. Both Clarence, who passed away in 1922, and Edith, who died in 1942,
were residents of Scottdale. Ralph was a retired yardmaster and trainman for the
Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad, working out of West Newton. He retired in 1977 with
37 years service. Ralph previously owned and operated a gas station in the Connellsville
area. He was a member of the East Liberty Presbyterian Church of Vanderbilt and a 53-year
member and 32nd degree mason with the James Cochran Lodge #614 Free and Ancient Masons of
Dawson. He also served the lodge as past master in 1950. Ralph held memberships with the
Uniontown Lodge of Perfection, the Syria Temple of Pittsburgh, and the Council Chapter
Consistory, Valley of Pittsburgh. He was a former member and past president of both the
Vanderbilt and Connellsville school boards, a member of B.P.O.E. Lodge #503 of
Connellsville, the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainman Union, and was a graduate of Scottdale
High School. Ralph is survived by his loving family: a son, Harry A. Livengood of Irwin;
two grandsons, Ralph Jacquillard of Dundein, Fla., and Eric Jacquillard of Palm Harbor,
Fla.; three great-grandchildren, Tracey Jean Jacquillard, Jacob Jacquillard and Zachary
Jacquillard; a sister, Ruth McKenna of Palm Harbor, Fla.: and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Addis
Livengood, in 1966; a daughter, Marilyn Jean Jacquillard, in 1981; a sister, Mildred
``Brenda'' Moxin; and five brothers, Joseph, Walter, Albert ``Jay,'' Charles, and Richard
Livengood. Family and friends will be received at the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105
Spring St., Scottdale (724-887-5300) Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m., in the funeral home, with
the Rev. John Barchey officiating. Chapel committal services and interment will follow in

Lyman M. Livengood, 71, of West Finley, formerly of Greensboro, died at 5:30
a.m. Friday, April 17, 1998, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief
illness. He was born April 10, 1927, in Greensboro, a son of Jacob and Alice
Livengood.
Mr. Livengood lived most of his life in Greensboro and the past year in West Finley. He
was a graduate of Waynesburg College and received a master's degree in social work from
West Virginia University. Mr. Livengood served with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He worked
with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation from 1957 to 1961, and then worked for
Greene County Assistance Office, where he became executive director in 1991. Mr. Livengood
was actively involved in community service. He coached Little League baseball in
Greensboro for many years and served for six years on the Catholic Charities Community
Advisory Committee. He was an original member of Greene County Human Services Committee
and had served on the Family Abuse Council. He was a current board member and past
president of Cornerstone Care and Greene County Health and Welfare Coordinating Council,
receiving their Gold Key Award in 1990. He was a current board member of Washington-Greene
Community Action Southwest and Greene County United Way, where he contributed on the
pioneer level for many years. He was active in the Waynesburg Rotary Club and received a
Paul Harris Fellow award in 1996 and was chairman of the Adopt a Highway service
committee. Surviving are five children, Shelley Davis of West Finley, with whom he made
his home, Linda Bongiorno of Charleston, S.C., Jacqueline Smith of Greensboro, Roger L.
Livengood of Carmichaels and Kevin Livengood of Nineveh; 12 grandchildren; one
great-grandchild; and a sister, Patricia Morris Wilson of Dilliner. Deceased are a
brother, Jacob Livengood; and two grandchildren.

Harry H. Livingood, 58, of Akron, Ohio, died Sunday, August 9, 1998, from lung
cancer. He was born April 11, 1940, in Nash County, a son of the late John F. and Ella
Livingood. Mr. Livingood retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Akron, Ohio, after 31
years of service. Mr. Livingood served with the U.S. Army and was a member of
Mogadore Moose Lodge 1082, American Legion Post 209 and F.O.E. Lodge 2301. Surviving are
his wife, Carrol Jean Mize Livingood; several stepchildren and stepgrandchildren; a
brother, Laverne J. Livingood of West Virginia; two sisters, Beatrice Brooks and Mary

Earl "Junior" Livengood, 71, of Grove City, Ohio, formerly of Dilliner
and Greensboro, died Wednesday, September 15, 1999, in his home, following a lengthy
illness. He was born March 5, 1928, in Greensboro, a son of Vincent Earl and Irena Maude
Ingram Livengood. Mr. Livengood was a truck driver and farmer. He was a member of Sugar
Grove Baptist Church, Greensboro R.D.1. Mr. Livengood was a veteran of the Korean War,
having served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman. On July 11, 1951, he married Vera
Mae Wade, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Sarah Jean Livengood of
Chillicothe, Ohio; four sons, Robert Lee Livengood of Columbus, Ohio, David Alan Livengood
of Southbridge, Mass., Bruce Neal Livengood of Canal Winchester, Ohio, and James Earl
Livengood of Ashville, Ohio; eight grandchildren; a brother, Wilbur Livengood of
Garrettsville, Ohio; a sister, Ruth Mozden of Uniontown; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a sister, Wynona Durr. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. October 10,
1999, in Sugar Grove Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial

Pennsylvania state Rep. Henry Livengood,
55, an Armstrong County Democrat who had been a state legislator since 1976, died
yesterday after suffering a heart attack at his home in Ford City, his wife said.
Rep. Livengood had finished sweeping snow from the front walk of his home
when he was stricken, said his wife, Donna. She said her husband was pronounced dead
shortly after noon at Armstrong Memorial Hospital in Kittanning.

of Frey Village and formerly of 627 Vine St., both in Middletown, died Friday
in the village. He was retired from the state Black Lung Disability
Program, was the former owner of the Livengood News Agency, Middletown, and
formerly was in the printing business in York; was a 1921 graduate of
Gettysburg College; past president of the University Club of York and the
Middletown Kiwanis Club; and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, York, and
the York Masonic Blue Lodge. He was the widower of Emma Huyett Livengood.
Surviving are a daughter, Marcella H. of Middletown; two brothers, James W.
Livingood of Chattanooga, Tenn., and John B. Livingood of Delray Beach, Fla.;

Mrs. Hanna Gable one of the best known women in the western part of the
county, died Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs.
Joseph Steckel in Mulberry (Indiana). death resulted from infirmities incident to
advanced years. She had been ill for several months. The deceased, a daughter of the late Peter Leibenguth and Susanna
Leibenguth, was born in North Hampton County Pa., Dec 1, 1825, and was past
91 years of age at the time of death. All her early life was spent near the place of her birth and in 1841 she
was united in marriage with Tobias Gable. They located in this county where
they made their Home until Mr. Gable's death in 1886.
She was a life long resident of the Reform Church at Mulberry and was a
woman of true Christian ideals, that she carried out to the best of her
ability. She is survived by five children, Robert W., William J., Francis M.,
John J.Gable and Mrs. Joseph Steckle. Funeral services will be held from the Reform church today, by
Rev. Seigrist
will officiate. Interment will take place in Fair Haven cemetery.

William G. Levengood, a well-known
citizen of Pottstown, met with a fatal accident yesterday morning at
Glasgow. He was a carpenter and the accident was caused by the slipping
of a trestle which threw him off the house a distance of twenty feet,
his head striking on a pile of stones, crushing his skull. He died five
minutes after. He was for many years, connected with the
Philadelphia and Reading Railroad and was sent to South America and
other places by that company to having had charge of the selection of
all heavy tinder. His wife died two years ago. The surviving children
are: Mrs. Howard Heller, Mrs. F. C. E. Millhouse, of Pottstown; Mrs.
Edith They of Chicago; Andrew J. Levengood and Mrs. Joseph Engle of
Reading; John Levengood, Frank Levengood and Mrs. Peter Sieshotz,
Pottstown and Mrs. John Yeager of Spring City, are brothers and sisters.

Ida (Leibundgut) Thon, died Tuesday at
Yavapai Community Hospital. Born Feb. 8, 1890 at Flaville,
Switzerland, she came to the United States as a young girl with her
family. She moved to Arizona 11 years ago from Texas. A retired
practical nurse, she had been a member of the Unity Church for 40
years in Illinois. Survivors include: three sons. Raymond of
Buffalo N.Y., William of Prscott Valley and Elmer of Patagonia; two
daughters, Mrs. Lillian Coburn of Sedona and Mrs. Irene Mischke of
Prescott Valley; also seven grand children and 10 great grand
children. Funeral services will be held at Memory Chapel at 2 p.m.
Thursday with Rev. Norman Tarbox officiating. Burial will follow
