Missions and Goals

The Bangladesh Association of Greater Kansas City (BAGKC) is an organization for Bangladeshis and Bangalees living here in the greater Kansas City area. Membership is also open to anyone from Bangladesh or interested in Bangla culture.

Mission:
To provide a forum for communication, friendship, education and community development for Bangladeshis and Bangalees living in the Midwest. The association membership also strive We will also strive to provide professional assistance in community development for Bangladeshis in the Midwest.

The traditions and mission of the BAGKC lead to four major program goals towards which most activities of the Association are aimed: Communication, Friendship, Education, and Community Development. These goals express the mission of the Association in particular terms (as defined in BAGKC Constitution, Article 1, Section 2):


1. Communication: Enhance communication link between the among Bangladeshis and between people interested in Bengali culture. Bangalees.
2. Friendship: Foster family ties, fraternity, and a spirit of association among the Bangladeshis and Bangalees.
3. Education: Stimulate effective learning and knowledge sharing among members based on family and religious values.
4. Community Development: Influence Bangladeshi/Bangalee community development both here in the USA, and Bangladesh.

These goals are carried out through an extensive program of publications and meetings. The Association makes available to a wide audience information on meetings and publications. It is actively concerned with Bangladeshi/Bangalee students in the Midwest.
