ITM Cawangan Johor is one of the branch campuses of Institut Teknologi MARA (ITM has a campus in each state of Malaysia except Negeri Sembilan). The objective of ITM Cawangan Johor is to provide professional training in commerce to bumiputera students. It aims to achieve this objective by offering courses like business management, banking, accountancy and investment analysis.
ITM Cawangan Johor has a student population of 2,500 together with around 130 academic staff. The ratio of female to male students is approximately 3 to 2. The campus is located in Segamat, which is a medium sized town to the north of Johor. Segamat is a 2 1/2 hour drive from Kuala Lumpur and a 2 1/2 hour drive from Johor Bahru. There is a also highway linking Segamat to Kuantan. The district of Segamat is famous for its durians. ITM Cawangan Johor started its operations on December 1983 at a temporary site in Bukit Siput. Then it moved to Segamat Baru. On January 1, 1990, the school moved to its permanent campus of 200 hectares at the 8th mile, Jalan Muar-Segamat road. The facilities include an administration block, 2 lecture theatres, 2 blocks of lecturer's rooms, 2 blocks of classes, a hall, a library, 3 female students hostels and 2 male students hostels, and a medical unit.
