ITM Cawangan Johor offers the following courses Diploma In Banking (DIB) This course is designed to provide skills in business and management especially for students who want to pursue a career in banking. The length of the course is for 6 semesters, or 3 years. Course structure Diploma In Business Studies (DBS) The objectives of this course is to develop research, management and decision making abilities among its graduates. In addition, students are taught entrepreneurial skills with the cooperation of the Malaysian Entrepreneurial Develoment Centre. The length of the course is 6 semesters, or 3 years. Course structure Diploma In Accountancy (DIA) This course, introduced in 1967, has been designed to produce sub-professionals in accounting. The length of the course is 6 semesters, or 3 years. Course structure Diploma In Investment Analyst (DIIA) ITM started this course in July 1981. Presently, ITM Cawangan Johor is the only campus within the ITM system offering DIIA. The objectives of the course are to train and produced professionals in the field on investments in securities. The entry requirements are SPM with credits in Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mathematics and two other subjects. Students from DIB and DBS who obtained a minimum CGPA of 3.0 at the end of their first year are also selected for submission to Part 3 of the course. Past graduates of DIIA have found employment opportunities in stockbroking firms, merchant banks, commercial banks, investment firms, government business corporations like Permodalan Nasional Berhad and Tabung Haji, the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange and the Kuala Lumpur Commodities Exchange. Graduates may also further their studies in American Universities for the B.B.A. and M.B.A. programmes. Course structure Diploma In Public Administration (DPA) This course was introduced in 1967. At present, ITM Cawangan Johor only offers this course to distance-learning students (PJJ). Bachelor of Accountacy (Hons) The B Acc (Hons) is a two-year program specially designed for students who are keen to specialise in accountancy. A six-month preparatory program was introduced in 1991 to allow non-accounting diploma holders to enrol in this course. This course is recognised by the Public Services Department as equivalent to an honours degree from a local university. Applications are opened to graduates who have a Diploma with good grades from the School of Accountancy, ITM or equivalent. Preference will be given to candidates with work experience in a related field. Course structure Bachelor in Business Administration (Hons) (Finance) The BBA (Hons) (F) is a two-year Post-Diploma program specially designed for students who are keen to specialise in the field of finance. This course is aimed at providing students with an understanding of the principles and practices of various aspects of finance in the business world. This course is recognised by the Public Services Department as equivalent to an honours degree from a local university. Applications are opened to graduates who have a Diploma with good grades from the School of Business and Management, ITM or equivalent. Preference will be given to candidates with work experience in a related field. Course structure Bachelor in Business Administration (Hons) (Marketing) The BBA (Hons) (M) is a two-year course designed for students who are interested in the field of marketing. This course aims to provide students with an understanding of the principles and practices of marketing in both the consumer as well as the industrial market. The course includes 4 to 5 months of industrial attachment. This course is recognised by the Public Service Department as equivalent to an honours degree from a local university. In addition, the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) provide exemptions for all papers except Planning and Control, and the Case Study. Applications are opened to graduates from ITM with a CGPA of 2.75 and above or equivalent qualifications. Preference will be given to students with working experience. This course is only offered to distance learning students (PJJ). Course structure
