      The 72 Hour Challenge

The 72 Hour Challenge is always being requested on the WDW Encouragement Board so I decided to post this here on my page. It is a wonderfully inspired tool and I highly recommend it to you.

I do not know Debbie but I know this has blessed many (myself included) as have many of her other posts on the WDW Encouragement Board.

Here is the main part of the original post (edited by me) on the 72 hour challenge from Deb (links to printable 72 hr charts follow):

"I believe this "tool" (72 HR Challenge) is blessed of the Lord because of the circumstances in how it came about. My Desert Buddy was prompted by the Lord to call me from Arizona to see if she could be of some encouragement. Being the persistent person that she is, Sherie would not hang up until the Lord provided a means to get me out of the slump I was in. Hence, the 72 Hour Challenge.

I want to preface the rest of this post by saying that I do not believe that this chart should be used ALL of the time. So many of us are on the lookout for another "golden calf" to build to make this work. But like using saucers, small relish forks, listening to tapes, this is one more tool to see if you can benefit from.

Personally, I find myself running to the Lord faster and not sinning because of this chart. All along I thought my goal was to lose weight. I have found my desire is to be free from the constant mental pull food has on me. IT'S A BATTLE OF THE MIND.

72 HOUR CHALLENGE: On a card or piece of paper, draw squares. Something you can easily carry with you. Each square represents an hour of the day or night. Pray about how many hours you want to do this chart. (3 days = 72 hrs). Draw that many squares. As a particular hour passes, you mark your square accordingly (suggestion):

Check Mark - No head hunger and no stomach hunger

Happy Face - Experienced head hunger, immediately recognized it and ran to the Lord for satisfaction.

Star - Experienced stomach hunger (green light) and ate until politely full (red light) (Even if you drank only 2 oz of juice or drank coffee w /sugar and cream)

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU MESS UP? Start over with a new chart Yes, even for head hunger you didn't stop dwelling on. The battle begins in the mind.

I have heard of wonderful blessings from using this to get going again. Pray about it though. Ask God if it's okay for you to use this tool. I don't want anyone to stumble (depending upon) because of this system.

Keep track on paper some of the things you learn during this time. It's a real eye opener.
      ....

If you try your 72 Hr. LOVE Challenge chart, please post on the encouragement page and share what happened for you.

I am personally praying for each person that tries this with the Lord's blessing. He's a creative God and I love Him for that!

      Blessings, Debbie "

In the words of Winston Churchill..... Never Never Never Give up!

"The way you fall in love with Jesus is the same way you fall in love with someone:

SPEND TIME WITH HIM and TELL HIM YOU LOVE HIM!

When you read the Bible, you see His overwhelming love for you, and you can't help but feel the same towards Him. "
