Old Maximum Cards From Daniel Olsen, Feb-2000. |

I am enclosing a color photo copy of a piece I like
very much. I look for references to Maximum Cards on the correspondance part
of very early TCV postcards. This one is from 1916. Very few Maximum Cards
were made during the years ofthe Great wall 1914-1919.

Figures 1 and 2: The Stamps Corresponds. I select postcards that make a match
with the stamps and believe that this gives it some importance, at least as a
curiosity. 15 February 1916, Montevideo, Uruguai.
I also like those Maximum Cards that were actually
transported through the mails- by aircraft, by Zepp, by train, cars,
horseback, etc. There is one here that was transported by Ballon, from the
Eiffel Tower.

Maximum Cards Buletin
of 1939, France From Daniel Olsen, Feb-2000 |
![]() |
Before World War II, France had become the center of this
developing branch of philately. Catalogs of Maximum Cards from many countries
appeared before 1934. Rules that were set then never really changed, as shown
in this 1939 bulletin.
