Write the rough draft of the paper

You should have your information arranged in a logical order so that you will be able to have all the information on one area together and all the information on another area together. Fatima has written her facts down on index cards with a notation on the card to help her know where she found that fact.

Fatima then arranges her notecards in the same order as her working outline. She is now ready to write her rough draft. On this draft, she is not going to worry about her spelling, her sentence structure or other mechanics, but rather getting her thoughts down on paper. When she uses a notecard, she makes a note on the rough draft as to source and page number so she can later make endnotes. It is important that each fact used is given credit as to where it was found.

The purpose of the rough draft is to get down the ideas, facts and thoughts. Now it is time to edit, re-write and prepare your paper for presentation.
