Edit, Rewrite and Present the Paper

Fatima has a computer copy of her rough draft. She prefers to print it out so she can mark on the page. She is going to go through the paper more than one time.

First, Fatima is going to read the paper outloud to be sure that it reads well. She will work on the wording of her paper -- correcting grammar, finding the right words and moving things around until the paper reads the way she likes it.

Next, Fatima checks the paper for spelling, punctuation and and catches any last word changes she wants to make. She knows that many good papers have gotten poor grades. A paper may be for history, but spelling and grammar still count.

Now Fatima is ready to rewrite the paper and incorporate the style that her teacher requested. She is going to use MLA style as that is what her teacher requested. A style is a standard way of presenting a paper. It tells you how large to make margins, how to cite information used in the paper and even if you should have a cover sheet or not.
