The Reason for this Page:
SO, you have no idea what Fargo is? Basically it is an assembly shell for one of Texas Instrument's most advanced graphing calculator: the TI 92. [Please visit my LINX page for links to TI92 and Fargo sites.] It lets you play great GAMES! [Which of course is why I like it...] I happen to have this $200 piece of modern technology so that I can pass my Calculus courses with some measure of sanity left. And it doesn't hurt to have a few video game capibilities on the side. Heh heh.... You can click the names at the top of each game table to down load a zipped file of that game.

DESCRIPTION: Breakout from Atari revisited only better graphics and stuff. Move your paddle across the bottom of the screen and bounce the ball to destroy all the bricks. Collect bonuses like magnetic paddle, hardball, paddle widen, and more. |
MISC.: This game freezes up every once in awhile on my calculator. However, it usually unfreezes after about 4 minutes or so. Also, the bonuses aren't always what they are supposed to be.... [I just found out that if you pause in the middle of your game and put your calculator away, it doesn't turn off after a few minutes like usual. The auto turn off seems to be disabled in this game. Just thought I'd tell you and save you HOURS WORTH OF BATTERIES!!! Grrr....] |

DESCRIPTION: It's tetris, need I say more? The classic game of stacking different shaped bricks. This one features level selection, starting with bricks already stacked, next brick preview, and two player mode if you have a friend with the game on his calculator and a link cable. |
MISC.: I really like this version of tetris. It's pretty much everything you could want except maybe the option to turn off the next brick preview.... |
AUTHOR: Markus Klisics |
DESCRIPTION: Direct the little bouncing ball around the screen to make the bricks disappear. Uses the brick changers to select which kind you are destroying. Be careful not to hit the diamonds! Features level practises. |
MISC.: I think that level 10 is impossible to beat, but it's still a super fun game if you posess strategy AND reflexes.... |
AUTHOR: Don Barnes |
DESCRIPTION: Your typical role playing game. Increase your hit points, weapon, wealth, etc. on you mission to fight evil. Has a great graphical interface. |
MISC.: It is pretty tetious to keep fighting all the monsters necessary to gain the experience you need, but still a good game. Takes a huge amount of memory. 30+ K when all's said and done. I'd recomend loading this one up, play for a couple weeks till you beat it, and get it off. |
AUTHOR: Jimmy Mardell |
DESCRIPTION: One way scrolling game. You are the little bug/alien Sqrxz and you must work your way through the maze/level squashing blobs, avoiding hedgehogs, and collecting sausages. This is sorta like the origional Super Mario Bros. game. |
MISC.: This is pretty smooth scrolling. I was impressed. So far it only has about two levels, but it's still fun.... |
AUTHOR: Jimmy Mardell |
DESCRIPTION: Four way scrolling game. The old classic in the palm of your hand. Make you way through the many cave/maze like levels collecting gems while avoiding falling bolders, and other... little.... uhh... thingys.... Features level selection. |
MISC.:This is a GREAT game.... |
AUTHOR: Gareth James |
DESCRIPTION: Hard to explain, but fun. One of the few [only?] "three dimentional" games for Fargo. Controll your ball's up and down movement, side to side movement, AND speed to jump over holes in the plane. This has a level editor so the game never really ends! |
MISC.: This game has simple graphics, but it gets addictive! |
AUTHOR: Ben Chauveau |
DESCRIPTION: I REALLY hope you don't need an explination for this one, but just in case. Control big mouth Pac-Man around the maze. Eat all the dots. Avoid the ghosts. This is just like the origional arcade game. The maze scrolls up and down so as to get the whole thing in. It only has a few levels right now. |
MISC.: This game gets old to me so I don't keep it on my TI92, but if you like Pac-Man, you gotta try this one.... |
AUTHOR: Don Barns |
DESCRIPTION: Space Invaders!!! A remake of the old Atari game. Shoot the aliens out of the sky taking cover beneath your shields. Don't let 'em land and don't get fried. |
MISC.: It's been awhile since I played this one. As I recall it's fun at first but gets boring after a bit. One reason is that everytime you die, you have to start ALL over again. Try it yourself and see if you like it..... |
AUTHOR: David Ellsworth |
DESCRIPTION: Another Tetris game. This one doesn't have some of the added nicities [such as a way to get out of the game without killing yourself, among others] but it is unusual in that it has you turn your calculator sidways to play. Kinda nice since the long width of the TI92 screen lends itself to a Tetris size playing field. |
MISC.: I personally like the other Tetris game better, but this one doesn't have brick preview. If you don't like to see what brick is comming next, this is the Tetris for you.... |
AUTHOR: ??????? |
DESCRIPTION: Ever played the war game "Worms"? That's what this is. Eight little worms frolick about on a little landscape trying to blow each other up with bazookas. What could be more fun? |
MISC.: This game is still in it's beta version. It is fully playable, but it's almost impossible to keep track of who is who, unless you stratigically name your worms.... WARNING: This froze my calculator, hard core, when I tied a game. Don't let the last worms on all teams die at the same time! |
AUTHOR:Jimmy Mardell |
DESCRIPTION: Use that stratigic mind of yours to group together tiles. Once you have a group of 2 or more, make 'em disappear. The rest of the tiles will fall down to make more groups. Very puzzle oriented. |
MISC.: This a really good game for as much memory it takes [3K]. This has a puzzle mode where you get to think as long as you want before each move, and an action mode where tiles keep appearing and you must keep the screen from filling. |
AUTHOR: Patrick Davidson |
DESCRIPTION: This is basically a Galatix clone. Or sorta like Galaxin if you remember that game. Blow up the waves of alien ships using three different weapons. The action in this game make it very cool. It has fairly good graphics and four different difficulty levels to choose from. |
MISC.: This game has a HUGE best scores list which is a nice plus. |
AUTHOR: PPZTM |
DESCRIPTION: Much like snakes, this game involves strategy and reflexes. It is a two player, split screen game. The object is to move a dot around a playing field, and use the tail the dot leaves behind to trap your opponent. He is trying to do the same to you. You need to avoid your own tail as well as his! This game has some interesting extras like a key that you can use to jump over tails, and a key that speeds your dot up. |
MISC.: This game has some bugs, like for instance, you need to push F6 to create custom controls instead of F5 like it claims, and I don't think resizing the tails works. It didn't crash my calculator, though, and it is a great two player game. [It'd be even better if it could be played over a link instead of a split screen.] |
AUTHOR: Andrew Von Dollen |
DESCRIPTION: This is sorta-but-not-quite like Pengo. You are Slippy the Penguin. Push little boxes across the ice into the puddles of water so you can collect every coin in the level. You must use your brain on this one, because one miss-push even at the beginning could ruin your chances of beatting the level. Then you'd have to start the level all over agian, you'd get depressed, snap at your girlfriend and cause her to leave you for a more sensitive man WITHOUT a TI92..... |
MISC.: This game has 25 levels. It automatically saves the game after you beat a level, so you can quit and comeback to where you were. When you beat the last level, take Slippy off your Calc. I think mine froze up in the middle of a CS test because I had tried to play a non-existant 26th level the day before.... What?.... NO, I'M NOT BITTER!!!! |
AUTHOR:Lots of people |
DESCRIPTION:You can't play Fargo games without the proper libraries on your calc. This zip file contains all of the main ones, and some not so main ones, as well. |
MISC.: I don't remember if this has the shell program, flib, and romlib in it..... |
