Welcome to my home page. I am a Postdoctoral Research Physicist working in the Nuffield Department of Surgery, University of Oxford; and a Research Member of Wolfson College Common Room. My current research involves balancing image quality and radiation exposure for patients undergoing multi detector row CT for medical purposes. Areas of particular interest for our group include cervical spine imaging, low contrast imaging of the abdomen and abdominal sepsis. Some of the research into radiation dose constraint in computed tomography was part of a programme funded by EC (framework 6). Other work includes developing therapeutic applications of microwaves, ultrasound and an investigation of false negative interval cancers in the NHS Breast Screening Programme. Details about my current research together with earlier work in Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) are included in this website. Links to other science, horticulture and general interest pages are also available.
