Greek Language School

Brief History
The Greek Language School was one of the first priorities of the Southern Highlands Greek Community.
The first lesson was held on mid April 1995 in a classroom at the Mittagong Public School. There are 18 students of all
ages in two different groups according to their age and proficiency. The Greek Language School was formed as
there was no other form of Greek language lessons in a 90Km radius.
School hours
The lessons are held at the Mittagong Public School, every Saturday 3:00pm to 4:30pm for the
younger group, and Wednesday 5:30pm to 7:00pm for the older group. For further information please do not hesitate to

Our aim
We mainly try to:
- Promote frequent contact between the locals.
- Promote and preserve in this country the Greek language from one generation to another, and to promote it to persons wanting to learn it.
- Have fun while learning.
