Appalachian Tral Yearbook, 1996

This page isn't intended to be very interesting to everyone. I didn't put in pretty scenery shots or interesting verbal content. If you are interested in the trail in general check the AT Homepage. If you want to know where to find your lost burrow owl write to Pueblo, CO 81009. But if you were a '96 hiker or knew one, take a look and see if there's a photo. I am just playing with this a bit to see if I can get in touch with some of the people that I met during my walk.

I have made up my mind that I am definitely going again in '97. I had to leave the trail in Mass last year, I will be back on Springer in late March, this time I'm going to make it all the way.

A few extra photos -- Me and THE MAN at the ATC in Harper's Ferry. A Ranger station somewhere several people here including Rooster and Mudpuppy.  Sluggo somewhere in VA.  Another shot of Strings.  Tigger and Bag lady at Traildays.  My brother and I standing near a statue of a fascist war-mongering mass-murderer during my July 4th break. An old shot from a trip I took in 1991 with "The Magnificent 7," certainly one of the better weeks of my life. Taken at Rice field, the three folks on the right are my mom, my brother and myself.

(I thought that it might be amusing to let Calvin urinate on some of the more hiker-hostile businesses that I came across. I have a few others in mind, but not many. Most of the people and towns along the trail I found to be really super friendly.)
