Flight 97--"The Okanogan Flying Circus!"
Welcome to Hangar #9702, the homepage of Flight 97--"The Okanogan Flying Circus."   We were a Squadron team in the online WWII combat flight game, "Fighter Ace," back when it was found on Microsoft's Internet Gaming Zone.  Microsoft's mismanagement of the game nearly killed it, and our Flight team retired.  VR-1 got their game back, and it is alive and well again.  This page remains as a memorial to the old Flight 97.
A "Flight" is a military air unit smaller than a squadron and larger than a sortie.  Kind of like what a squad or fire team is to a platoon.  It normally consists of about three to five aircraft.  Our "Squadron" was too tiny to really be a Squadron, which is why we called outselves,
Flight 97.
Understaffed, Underequipped, and Unready!  We were the Okanogan Flying Circus!  After flying as a tiny Bomber Squad in Fighter Ace 2.0 and 2.5, we have retired.  We were virtual flyers from the Okanogan Highlands region of the Pacific Northwest.

Our Figher Ace Flight disbanded in the Summer of 2000, and from there went to play EverQuest, World War II Online, Anarchy Online, and the MUD, Shadows of Isildur.

July 2000 NOTICE:  Due to Summer Vacation plans, the members of Flight 97 have curtailed their Fighter Ace activities on a temporary basis.  Enjoy the sunshine, and we hope to see more of you in Autumn.

PS.  May 2003 Notice to tack onto the above notice:
We never did return to Fighter Ace.  Once our Flight members discovered EverQuest and other online games, we moved on.
Fighter Ace itself now survives and thrives at a new location.  This web site stands in Memory of those who flew in Flight 97 and all the fun we had.  Enjoy walking through our old dusty abandoned Flight Hangar!  Many of the items here haven't been disturbed since our final combat mission....

Those who once flew, we salute you!
