2. Berghoffs*chicago loop- The long running restaurant that will be going out of business in the next month. I have no idea why this restaurant has been in business for the past 150 years. this place sucks. the creamed spinich tastes like raman noodle. The only thing good that i ordered was the home made rootbeer, and also their house brewed dark ale.
3. Ginos East on wells and ontario- I have been to this chicago style pizzaria many times, but this past time was just not very pleasing. The pizza tasted like V8, and lacked in the cheese department. also the crust was very dry and even burnt to a degree. it was offensive.
4. The art of Pizza on milwaukee - Zaget rated number one place for pan pizza in chicago, and i agree.
5. Mr. J's on wells- The cheapest, decent, food in chicago. just look past the dirty apearance and homeless people.
6. Bob Sans- I do not have that great of knowledge about sushi, however, it was delicious and fresh. sushi comes with a pricetag, and that is just somthing that you have to get over. recomendation- spicy tuna, crispened.
7. Machianos in little italy on clark and grand*- Good italian food, though their sauces are not thickend very well. sort of like pasta soup. I did find a pearl in my linguini with red sauce. it is worth ten million dollars if anyone is interested.
8. Milk and Honey- Decently prised for a hot spot, paninis are fantastic and vegetarians have a large selection. Good breakfast and luch menu. dont go during rush hours such as brunch you can barely moved. also there is a lady their who i think is one of the most gorgeous woman i have ever seen.
9. Clarks- there are three clarks in the chicago land area. however they are not all created equally. The one on bellmont is where all the hipster go and drink coffee, however the service usually sucks. I am attempting to not go there anymore, however, it seems to be the most common meeting grounds.
The other one i think it is on milwauke ave. this is a trendy little place sort of like a fifties diner, it is rather nice and the waiters are always cute and usually very good at their job.
The third one is in evanston, i have never been there, but it is supposed to be pretty good also.
10. earwax cafe- This is a really cool little place. the specialize in vegetarian, and some vegan items. I had a peice of vegan cake the last time i went and it was awesome(well as awesome as vegan cake can be). i cant remember the side street that it is on but i know that it is around the westside around deman off the blue line stop. That is a nice area, i hope to move to that part of town in the future.
11. Michaels at clark and armitage- This is quite the ritzy place for one of those greek style coffee houses. but them it was at 4 in the morning, when all the bar hoppers were comming in for breakfast. I had the one waitress that escorted us boys into the girls bathroom, because someones had vomitted in the boys room. it was a nice place for a 24 hours day coffee.
12. Bentonara on racine and belmont---best sushi i have eaten yet.
recomendation- valcano roll, i still prefer the spicy tuna with a cruch, however the volcano roll was the product of a sensus agreement, and that is what they are known for.
13. Le Lan just south of chicago ave. on clark st.- The best food experience I have had since moving to chicago. The place is notorious for its extremely small front entrance. You have to look past that though and consider the food and service. Everything that i participated in was absolutely astonishing. I have not felt that way about food in such a long time; i was stunned. This place is pricey, so i inevitably ordered the cheapest thing on the menu- roasted pork tenderloin with a peanut ginger sauce. The presentation was perfect, and so were the flavors. For an appetizer i split a vegetable and shrimp spring roll with coleen; it was the best flavor of the night. The occation was mike's(aka koko) birithday he turned twenty-seven. It was an incredible experience.
Hey Sushi on clark st. - This was a fairly odd night, I discovered how ticklish I really am. Consequently I almost vommited all over the person who was sitting next to me. I thought it was fairly good. I recommend all things crunchy.
