Jane and I got married on the 29th March 1999! Officially we are now Mr. and Mrs. D.L. Thomas.

Jane and I have now been in Brunei for six months. Brunei is not in the Middle East- it's on Borneo. I had to look it up in the atlas, it's a very small place, only about 300,000 people live there. It really isn't very big, about the size of Hong Kong (or a bit bigger) but it is about 80% rain forest! We are both teaching at the Brunei International School, I am in the primary section and Jane is in the secondary section. Our new school's web page is here! So you can get some idea of where we are. The school is brilliant the only drawback is having to get up before 6 am and have Friday and Sunday off (really wierd!) But those are very minor drawbacks and all part of living here, so we aren't complaining.

We have a beautiful house with a massive garden (containing bananas, mangoes, coconuts and a papaya plant!)

The birdwatching is pretty spectacular but I have barely started to go into the forest behind the house so it should get even better!
