Recovery
Imagine, if you will, a small child trying to go to
sleep...it's storming outside. She is alone, in the dark...
frightened. Lightening flashes, illuminating her room, a
figure is silhouetted standing by her bed. He is not there to
offer comfort. Thunder crashes as he touches her. Slowly,
the storm ebbs....as the raindrops diminish, she is once again
alone. Alone...she sinks into confusion and fear, waiting to
be released, not knowing the depth of her prison...
or the length
of her sentence.
Scary scenario isn't it? Unfortunately, it isn't fiction. This is
what happened to me one night when I was only 8 years old. It was
the beginning of what was to become a nightmarish reality for
me. For 8 years I lived with the horror of being sexually
abused every Sunday morning.
This site is about one woman's continuing fight to overcome
the trauma of sexual abuse. It's an ongoing battle, seemingly all
uphill, but it's worth it. Life is too precious a thing to
waste, and by not living, your offender wins. I will not
let that happen. He has stolen too much from me already, and I
refuse to give him any more.
This is only the beginning.....much more will be coming soon, so
keep an eye out and check back often! I look forward to sharing
with you, keep safe.
