Welcome to

When
studying a photographof The Alveley Village Band you could
be
forgiven
for thinking you were looking at a picture of a huge, extended
family meeting to mark a special occasion.
Excited
children at the front, happy-looking teenagers standing behind,
more mature faces towards the rear and the odd grandfather type
figure at the back.
And
it seems that this is part of the appeal of one of the biggest
and most successful village bands in the country-it attracts
people of all ages and musical abilities who come together and
perform, and their appreciative audiences love every minute.
Literally
anyone can join the Band irrespective of the musical talent
because the music is written so that people of all abilities
contribute.
The
Band usually perform four major concerts a year for which tickets
are sold, and another eight at other locations including fetes,
fund-raising occasions, schools and disabled centres.

The Band
continues to flourish, and its successes to date have attracted
media attention including articles in the Telegraph, Birmingham
Post and local papers. More recently there has been coverage on
local radio, cable and Central tv news.
We are
grateful for the support from Alveley Parish Council, Bridgnorth
District Council, Whittall Meadows Trust, West Midlands Arts and the National Lottery
