Mechanically Augmented Neuro Transmitter Interception System Developed by Bryce Zabel Created by Sam Raimi and Sam Hamm Theme by Christopher Franke Music by Christopher Franke unless otherwise credited. Carl Lumly (Mantis)..................Dr. Miles Hawkins Roger Rees...........................John Stonebrake Christopher Russell Garten...........Taylor Savidge Galyn Gorg...........................Lt. Leora Maxwell Gary Graham..........................Capt.Hetrick Jerry Wasserman......................Det. Paul Warren Main Premise: A scientist/inventor was hurt and his spine damaged so he cannot walk. He invents a shell in which he can not only walk, but do a number of stunts. He also invents a vehicle. He has one colleague and a snoopy young man finds the hideout, which is some kind of abandoned dam or warehouse. The car never was developed much. He goes off catching criminals that the regular police can't find. Leora is almost a love interest, but the show focused on him, not the vehicle or romance. She discovers his identity later in the series. She is in a bind because she should turn him in and she doesn't want to do that. Prologue: This is the scientific journal of Dr. Miles Hawkins, to be published in the event of my death. I know when the truth is known, people will wonder why I felt it necessary to create the M.A.N.T.I.S.. The reality--I never did. The M.A.N.T.I.S. asked his own creation and I could not refuse him. 69601.
