NEW SECTION! |
Thanks to the interest in the memorial we have been making new contacts every week, details of which are being added as we speak, so if you don't see anything here that ties in with your line, email me with your details AND call back again soon! |
I've finally made a proper start on my Harvey ancestry and have carried the Cowan line back to the early nineteenth century, making new friends and meeting distant relatives along the way. |

This site has changed a few times in the last year too. I'm putting the various family lines back on the site. They will be in register book format with notes where applicable. I've tried using some of the Gedcom to HTML conversion packages but am not very keen on the output. Having said that, I'll probably keep changing things around next year too. |

There are also new sections on the site. The family photographs have prompted a huge response and have opened up new lines of enquiry where people have looked at a picture of one of my relatives and thought "that looks like great uncle Fred!". I might be expanding this section to include pictures from other branches of the family in future. |

Family stories. Rather than just retell the history of the family I want to add some stories about the family, past and present. Some of you might want to add stories relating to your family, email me and I'll see if I can put them online.Mail me at: almagill@geocities.com |

The McBrair McBriar Genealogy Club on Yahoo! is still drawing in new visitors. Haven't been there yet? Then the club is at: |

After several years of hard work members of the MacBrair Family Association have had the McBrair Family Memorial erected at St Michaels Church in Dumfries. This is a very significant event for all members of teh family as it now gives us a tangible 'focus' when we visit the site where our ancestors worshipped, were married, baptised and buried for so many generations. |

A friend from the Dumfries and Galloway Family History Society has very kindly helped me out with photographs for the site, so here is a blatant plug for his webpages which feature various virtual tours round Dumfries and Galloway Sandy Pittendreich's Wanders and Rambles! |
I have also added a page of memorial inscriptions dedicated to McBrairs who fell in the two World Wars of the 20th century. It is at: War Memorial |
