We spend a lot of time in our homes and having a comfortable and attractive one can add a lot to our family life. However, it is important not to allow improving the appearance of the house to cause us to loose sight of what a home really is - people. If making our home a "showplace" is taking too much of our time and/or financial resources, it could actually make our home less happy! As time goes on, I'm hoping to add resources to this site to fit all budgets and to help save time for more important things. One thing I firmly believe is that the people living in the home should decide what colors and styles to include because they are the ones who have to live there. Current trends are OK for ideas and sometimes our shopping choices are limited by these trends, but in a few years the trends will change. So, unless you are decorating a home for resale, it is more important to please yourself and your family!
