Anderson J. Briley, the son of (Mrs.) __________Anderson and Shaddrick Briley was born ca. 1816 in either North Carolina or Georgia  and married 1st. ________ 2nd. Mrs. Adaline Rambin Wallace on 24 (25?) March 1857 in Nacogdoches County, Texas, 3rd. Willie Martin on 31 July 1870 in Nacogdoches County, Texas.

Andrew served in the Confederate States Army in Co. B., 3rd. Brigade, of the Texas State Troops.  He is listed in the 1850 Census, 1860 Census, 1870 Census, 1857 Tax List, 1867 Voters Registration of Nacogdoches County, Texas.

Adaline Rambin Wallace, daughter of Jean Battiste Azenos Rambin, was born ca. 1825 in Louisiana and died in March 1870 of typhoid pneumonia.  She had two children from her marriage to Jacob Wallace: 

A. A. Wallace, born ca. 1852 in Louisiana.
B. Amos C. Wallace, born ca. 1858 in Texas (according to the 1860 Census).  In later Census' he used the name Amos Clark Briley and continued to use his step-father's name for the remainder of his life.  He died in 1948 and is buried in the lower Chireno Cemetery in Nacogdoches County, Texas.  He married Mary Alma Hargis on 10 December 1884.

Elijah Kaufman Chisum, Sr., son of Elijah Chisum, was born ca. 1773 in Virginia and died April 1860 of pneumonia in Nacogdoches County, Texas. He was married twice before his marriage to Salina A. Briley.

Salina A. Briley, was born ca. 1805 in Tennessee and died February  1880 and is buried in Jacob's Chappel Cemetery in Nacogdoches County, Texas.  She was married before her marriage to Elijah K. Chisum, Sr. to a Mr. ____ Nesbit and had the known following children:

Little, on 1 November 1868 in Nacogdoches County, Texas.  He served in Co. K., Texas Volunteer Infantry and in Co. A., 11th Texas Infantry. 

Samuel R. Briley, son of Adaline Rambin Wallace and Anderson J. Briley, was  born ca. 1842 in Nacogdoches County, Texas and died 11 March 1908.  He married Naomi E. Crisp on 31 August 1866 in Nacogdoches County, Texas.  He Served in the Confederate States Army Co. H., 1st. Texas Regt., Infantry.

Amos C. Wallace Briley, son of Adaline Rambin Wallace and Jacob Wallace, was only a small baby when his Father died; his mother remarried when he was still young to Andrew J. Briley and chose to use his step-father's name of Briley.   He was born ca. 1858 in Texas (according to the 1860 Census).  In later Census' he used the name Amos Clark Briley and continued to use his step-father's name for the remainder of his life.  He died in 1948 and is buried in the lower Chireno Cemetery in Nacogdoches County, Texas.   Amos married Mary Alma Hargis on 10 December 1884 in Nacogdoches County, Texas.

Sarah G. Burleson Howard Briley was born ca. 1812 in Alabama.  Sarah is listed in the 1854 School Census of Nacogdoches County, Texas as Sarah Howard even though she has already married James Briley.

Sarah married 1st. John H. Howard in Alabama and had the following children:

Martha Bonner Briley died between 1868 and 1880 as in the 1880 Census of Nacogdoches County, Texas James' wife is Amanda.  Children of Amanda and James Briley:

Felix G. Briley, son of Andrew J. Briley and his first wife,  was born 12 February 1846 in Texas and died 13 August 1933 and is buried in Swift Cemetery in Nacogdoches County, Texas. Felix is listed in the home of A.J. Briley in the 1854 School Census of Nacogdoches County, Texas along with his brothers and sister; Virginia Briley, Samuel Briley, and Mary Briley. A.J. Briley is listed in the 1860 Census of Nacogdoches County along with his 2nd. wife Adlade Wallace.  But, Felix G., is not found listed in his home in the 1860 Census anywhere in Nacogdoches County, Texas.

Felix served in the Confederate States Army in Co. D. 6th Louisiana Dismounted Cavalry.  Felix married Adeline E. Cureton on 10 November 1873 in Nacogdoches County, Texas.  

Adeline E. Cureton, daughter of Mary J. Kelly and William Obediah Cureton, born 30 September 1854 in Alabama and died 9 May 1928 and is buried in Swift Cemetery in Nacogdoches County, Texas.

In 1880 Adeline E. Cureton and her husband Felix G. Briley are found living in the home of Louisa Cureton, Adeline's sister, and her husband Moses Page in District IV Chireno.  Also living with them is Adeline's mother, Mary J. Kelly Cureton.

Joel Hickerson Briley, son of Adaline E. Cureton and Felix Grundy Briley, was born 28 July 1874 in Nacogdoches County, Texas.  He died 30 August, 1949 and married Gracy_______.  Gracy was born 14 July 1888 and died 23 January 1972.  Both are buried in Swift Cemetery. 

Robert Lee Briley,  son of Adaline E. Cureton and Felix Grundy Briley, was born 7 February 1878 in Nacogdoches County, Texas, and died 9 July 1936.  He is buried in Swift Cemetery. 


Samuel R. Briley, son of Andrew J. Briley, was born ca. 1842 in Nacogdoches County, Texas and died 11 March 1908 at the age of 66.  He married Naomi E. Crisp on 31 August 1866 in Nacogdoches County, Texas.   Samuel R. Briley served in the Confederate States Army Co. H., 1st. Texas Regt., Infantry. He received Confederate Pension # 04828.
