HONEY'S PAGE

Hi Everybody! I'm Honey and I'm the sweet and innocent one of the bunch. Now I don't know what makes those two other dogs argue so, but you can rest assured I'm not like that. Now of coarse if I wanted to complain I could make mention of Buckwheat and how he won't allow me out the door without have a good portion of my tail in his mouth..... I only weigh 7lbs. and I have all I can do to get out the door with him pulling me in the opposite direction. I mean he takes me by the tail and drags me from room to room. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining because as I said I'm not like that. My sister (the two legged one) calls me Angelica, from the Rug Rats Cartoon. I don't know what she means by that because Angelica is a sneak. She pretends to be sweet until your not looking. I'm not like that!! By the way did I mention I have my Mom rapped around my little paw. That's probably what my sister's problem is with me...she's jealous. Anyway, where was I ...Oh Ya, Buckwheat!!! All he does is eat plants and lawn furniture. Also he's cute and he knows it. There's nothing worse then a Vain Dog. Gizmo's a real good dog other then maybe he doesn't like to share his cookies and he steals my food when my back is turned. Also he acts like he owns the place because he lived here first. BUT Alas, as I said I'm not going to sit here and run them down because I'm not like that......Oh and before I forget, Buckwheat can't really use the computer. See what I mean about how vain he is!!!

          AT THE BEGINNING

When God had made the earth and sky, the flowers and the trees,
He then made all the animals and all the birds and bees.

And when His work was finished, not one was quite the same.
"He said, I'll walk this Earth of mine and give each one a name."

And so he travelled land and see and everywhere He went,
one little creature followed him until it's strength was spent.

When all was named upon the Earth and in the sky and sea
this little creature said, "Dear Lord, there's not one left for me."

The Father smiled and softly said, "I've left you to the end,
I've turned my own name back to front and called you 'dog' my friend."

          "Honey and Miss Kitty's Story"

I'd like to tell you the story about how Honey and Miss Kitty came to live with us. I am an Active member of the AA Program and there was a couple in the fellowship that owned these 2 precious animals. Without going into great detail I will try to explain the situation. Honey was left in a wire cage with no human contact, other then daily feedings. She was left in her own feaces for days on end. It wasn't completely the owners fault because they were jailed for reasons not important here. Anyway, family members of the owners would feed the dog and cat and that was all they agreed to do. Then I asked the family if they would ask these people on their visits if we could take care of the animals in our house. They agreed to this, so we went and retrieved the animals. The place had cat urine and feaces everywhere and as I said the dogs cage was also in the same state. The poor dog was very timid and the only thing she seemed to like was the cat. They had bonded in there moments of sadness, for all they had was each other. The dog's name at the time was Tutie Fruity, which we did not want to call her, so we started out calling her Pee Wee, which she took to right away. The cat had no name that we were aware of so we just called her Miss Kitty figuring we could change it later when we found out her real name. I wanted to call her Honey after my mother, but figured I'd better not as she wasn't my pet and the owners would be taken them back eventually. I should note here the reason for naming the cat after my mother was because my Mom died of Cancer 5 years ago. But before she died she asked that I name one of my animals Honey so that when the Vet sent appointment notifications it would read Honey Gobin, which Mom thought would be cute. (you had to know my mother to understand this) Anyway, eventually the owners did get out of jail and I brought the dog back to them at their request. The next day I went to their store, where they were living at the time, and there was the dog in that cage again and she went absolutely nuts when she saw me. I wanted to die. I told them if they wanted we would continue watching the dog till they got their lives back in order and they agreed. So the dog came back. We had the dog and cat for another 5 months and came to the realization we couldn't part with them. We offered to pay all medical bills the owners had been taken care of in exchange for the animals. We couldn't afford to pay the $700.00 they had paid for the dog but hoped repaying hospital bills would be enough. We sat on pins and needles for days waiting for the owners to make their final decision. Then on my birthday they called me and said they would give me the animals at NO expense as a birthday present. I can't tell you how thrilled we were. We were about in tears. At that moment I decided now was the time to give the cat her name of "Honey". But would you believe when I called to the cat, the dog went absolutely nuts and ran to me as if to say she wanted that name... Well then so it shall be, my precious dog now wears the tag of Honey... And Miss Kitty... well she's Miss Kitty of coarse. She won't answer to anything else. I should also note that Honey was shy and reserved for months when we first got her. It took us forever to potty train her. But the weirdest thing happened on the day of the phone call. Honey has been a mischeivious mutt from that day forward. I swear her whole personailty changed from the moment of the phone call. It was like she knew she finally had a home...As far as the Potty training went that took a little longer. We went away for 5 days and put the dogs in a kennel. When we returned Honey was so excited she was sick for days. But we she finally got better, she stopped messing in the house. It was like she was saying I'll be good so long as you never leave me again.. And Believe me Honey....we won't!!!

        Pickles

Check out our friend Pickles. She had
an even rougher road ahead of
        her till her adoptive Mom
game along to save her. Click
on her picture to read her story.

I adopted BabyM from LadyJ to show my support Against the Cruelty to Animal. I may joke on my pages about my pets wanting to do the other ones in, but make no mistake on the love I have for my pets. I think the world would be a much better place if we could love unconditionally the way our pets do. Let's all do our part in stopping this unforgivable act against our pets. Please go to LadyJ's site and adopt a pet of your own to
        help spread the word..

Out of all the beautiful cats I had
to choose from on LadyJ's site
I chose BabyM because I think she looks
like Miss Kitty and the name BabyM looked to me
as though it needed an extension put on her name...
        The extention of Miss Kitty.

Well will you look at this. Buckwheat's not
the only one with net pals. This
little girls name is Honey too!
