BUCKWHEAT

          I'M THE CUTE ONE!!!!!

Hi everyone I'm Buckwheat, better known as "The Buck". That's what my Mom calls me when she's in one of her silly moods. I've heard through the Grapevine that there's a certain, should I say Mongrel out there, trying to "SELL ME" on the internet. Now let me tell you right here and now that he is a little on the trouble making side. Unlike myself, who is just an all around good natured sorta fella. Now I'm not going to try and pay him back and try to get you to buy him instead, BUT if you were looking to get yourself a dog that is...oh let's say slow, then do I have the dog for you. Now I know Mom wouldn't mind if he were to leave because after all, she has me and what more could she need. I'm cute, I don't destoy much (unless it pertains to lawn furniture). But Hey, we all have our little hangups. Anyway back to the guy who's not to overly bright. Like I said I wouldn't stoop to his level but if you were interested I could probably get Mom to part with him..... Well maybe not willingly, but I could figure out a way when she's not looking. You just email me at this address on the bottom of the page and I'll see what I can work out. OH YEAH!!! Email me in the evenings, Monday through Friday, that's when Mom works and I can check the email and send you a reply. She doesn't know I can use this computer.. The Big Guy doesn't know how....
          Like I said he's slow!!

          How To Bathe The Cat

            1) Thoroughly clean the toilet

            2) Add the required amount of shampoo to the toilet water and have both seats lifted

            3) Obtain the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.

            4) In one smooth movement, put cat in the toilet and close both lids. (you may need to stand on the lid so that he cannot escape)

            CAUTION:,

Do not get any part of your body too close to the edge, as his paws will be reaching out for any purchase they can find. The cat will self-agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that comes from the your toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this.

            5) Flush the toilet three or four times. This provides a "Powerwash" and "rinse" which I have found to be quite effective.

            6) Have someone open the door to the outside and ensure that there are no people between the toilet and the outside door.

            7) Stand behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift both lids.

            8) The now-clean cat will rocket out of the toilet, and run outside where he will dry himself.

            Sincerely,
            The Dog

The writing I have added below was sent to me through email. I wanted to share it with you as I found it quite beautiful. Leave it to a child to sum up the Love our animals and the reasoning for their early departure. I hope you enjoy it and that it touchest your heart in the same way it did mine.

        Rites of Passage

Some of the most poignant moments I spend as a veterinarian are those spent with my clients assisting the transition of my animal patients from this world to the next. When living becomes a burden, whether from pain or loss of normal functions, I can help a family by ensuring that their beloved pet has an easy passing. Making this final decision is painful, and I have often felt powerless to comfort the grieving owners. That was before I met Shane. I had been called to examine a ten-year-old blue heeler named Belker who had developed a serious health problem. The dog’s owners - Ron, his wife, Lisa, and their little boy, Shane - were all very attached to Belker and they were hoping for a miracle. I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family there were no miracles left for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home. As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for the four-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt Shane could learn something from the experience. The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker’s family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away. The little boy seemed to accept Belker’s transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker’s death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives. Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, "I know why." Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me - I’d never heard a more comforting explanation. He said, "Everybody is born so that they can learn how to live a good life - like loving everybody and being nice, right?" The four-year-old continued, "Well, animals already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay as long."
