This site is about the genealogical search started in 1980 by my brother, el Padre José Antonio Oquendo Pabón, who then recruited me. To us, genealogy has been like planting a seedling and watching it grow, like a child, over the years. It thrives and it has its droughts and its growth spurts. You nurture it, fertilize it, fret about it and prune it just like a sapling and before you realize it, you have a tree which is getting stronger and broader with every family member you add to it. For amateur and professional alike, it is a labor of love as you watch your sapling grow from little twigs and branches to a grand old tree. Thus, the theme of this website. We hope that visiting here sparks a desire to learn more about your roots in all of you. We have links to our web page which is all in spanish and has new recuerdos, old fotos and the source documentation of the birth, marriage and death certificates for many in our direct line. Follow the links on the various pages, especially on Muertito Heaven. Lots of new stories periodically! Want to shed a smile or a tear? Click on the star,

In response to requests to tell a little about ourselves, here it is (in spanish) Botón

Our special thanks to the many friends we have met and made the past few years, as we've striven to complete our family history. Among these wonderful people are Luis Negrón Hernández and his staff at "PReb" (PR en breve: El Boletín de Puerto Rico), José Rivera Nieves, webmaster of La Genealogía de Puerto Rico, our colleagues on Compuserve's Hispanic Genealogy Section (Rose Villarini, Raclare Kanal, Walter Cardona, Camelia Roig, et al), & Al Sosa, Chaz Fourquet and Jorge Camuñas, of The Hispanic Genealogical Society of New York. Also, special friends, Emma Alsina Villafañe, José Aurelio Ramos, Scott Meléndez and José E. Sanchez Flores. But most of all, this site is especially dedicated to our wonderful parents, José Antonio (Don Che) and Rosa María (Doña Rosín), who shared a love of gardening, nature, animals and all things tropical, and who had little to no family as they grew up.
