Yes -- much to
the chagrin of many of our friends and family, we cancelled our
Fiji scuba-trip
reservations to cycle-camp the Oregon Coast instead. We
drove to Astoria
(on the coast at the Washington/Oregon border) with our
bikes, and cycled south
from there...

Our first campsite was at Fort Canby, Washington -- it was rather
wet so...
...we slept in the back of the Pathfinder.
The next morning, we parked at the Chamber
of Commerce in Astoria, Oregon, had breakfast at the Pig 'N' Pancake,
hopped on our bikes, and headed out.
We were definitely the most visible cyclists in Oregon that week.
We stayed at Cape Lookout for 2 days after
Tim took us over an unnecessary mountain -- somewhere on this mountain
Toni pointed out "I could be sipping a cocktail in a hammock in Fiji
right now..."

Lookout State Park
Lighthouses (and hills) are all along the
coast (Tim is the tired looking one in this photo)
We stayed in Yurts (a Mongolian nomadic
tent) at some of the State Parks -- luxury camping.

Another Oregon Coast sunset
We caught the 4:00am bus back from Florence
to Astoria (via Portland) before Toni drove back to Canada (and hit a
large bird... but that's another story.)
