The ceremony was held outside at Toni's grandparents' farm (now
Uncle Ernie's
farm), built in 1913. Grandpa has lived on the farm
since he was a few months
old, and Toni lived and played on the farm throughout
her childhood.
Uncle Ernie's cows came to watch the wedding at the farmhouse.
The intended minister (Tim's boyhood minister) called the morning of the wedding to say that he couldn't make it because of an incident with his toe and a lawn-mower. Fortunately, Jerry (a minister who was the Best Man at Toni's parents' wedding) stepped in and performed the ceremony without planning or rehearsal. We just played along...
A family of fiddlers provided peppy music before, during, and after the ceremony...

The crowd was entertained by Toni rolling her eyes and making faces to show her disagreement as the minister read "the Bible indicates that wives are to submit themselves unto their own husbands ... because 'the husband is the head of the wife...' |

Alic, the ring bearer (Toni's youngest nephew), was called up to give the rings to Jerry. Alic took the small ring pouch from his pocket and gave it to Tim and returned to his seat. Of course, the pouch was empty... Alic was called back up, searched his pockets again, and pulled out the two rings with a big grin on his face. Couldn't have been better if we had planned it ourselves... Here's everyone laughing as Alic brings up the rings (for the second time). |

During the signing of all those official papers, Peter (Tim's Dad) beautifully sang to the skillful accompaniment of Tim's sister Nikki. |
