According to the History of Edward Arshield Lawrence at the Avery School.....Edward Charles was the son of a french duke. The Charles-Eugene-Henri and his brother Joseph were the last two males of the house of Lorraine in France. The elder line of the House of Lorraine went to Austria to sit on the Hapsburg throne. The current head of the Hapsburg-Lorraines is Dr. Otto von Hapsburg-Lorraine, son of the last Hapsburg Emperor
