COFFEE
    THE ELIXER OF THE GODS

We take our coffee very seriously at our house. You are welcome to stop by any time of the day or night and there will be fresh hot java. We use a Melita coffee pot because we feel that it makes the best coffee. We detest coffee that sits on a hot plate for hours to stay warm.

I remember as a child that my parents had a glass vacuum coffee pot. There were two pieces involved. You put water in the bottom and the coffee in the top. When the water boiled it will pull it up into the top. You would stir the grounds with the coffee, turn the burner off, and the coffee would flow back down to the bottom. I was so in awe of how this coffee pot worked, that it probably accounts for my love of coffee today. I have been looking in antique stores for years for a coffee pot like this without success.
