The State Birds

Have you ever wondered what the state bird is for each state? When I started collecting postcards of the state symbols I began getting a lot of state bird postcards and after a while I started wondering just which bird represented each state. So here they are with the states in alphabetical order and the state bird following. Hopefully I'll be able to illustrate this page soon so you can see the birds too!

The Bluebird is the state bird of Missouri and New York and a traditional symbol of happiness. It is  welcomed by farmers because it eats large quantities of harmful insects without damaging crops. The best food I have heard of to attract bluebirds to your yard is mealworms.
