In Memory of Scotchie

March 18, 1984 - November 25, 1999

Scotchie was my first and only dog, my heart dog. My parents adopted her for me when I was 10 and we grew up together. She was truly my best friend, and saw me through the trials of high school, college finals, broken hearts, all the way to my first job.

For 15 years, she asked for nothing, yet gave me everything in return. Although life teaches us many lessons, it was Scotchie who taught me the meaning of responsibility, selflessness and unconditional love. There is no doubt in my mind that I would not be the woman I am today had she not been a part of my life.

This page is dedicated not to her memory, but to her life.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Scotchie. She is about 13 here and has just informed me that she is MOST unhappy being left alone in my apartment. She was moved shortly thereafter to her "retirement home" on Cape Cod with my dad, my sister and their dog, who were home a lot to keep her company
