BRETT AND MEGAN WHITEFORD
MARRIED 1st January 2000

Wedding Poem

These two stand before us, to unite
A ceremony of sharing love
Lays witness to their dedication

Time has bridged a gap of years
And so this thing has come to pass
Born not of necessity but celebration

Cast your eyes and minds
Upon achievements already blessed
Bearing this, see what is to come

For future’s fortune starts here today
The trials and happiness of things unknown
Lies forward beneath the sun

So people I beseech you all
Take heart and heed and lend an ear
And let their joy pervade you

We’ll dance and feast and raise our cups
Take comfort that each holds the other’s heart
We hold them in ours too.

Thank you, Cameron, for writing and delivering this poem on our Wedding Day.
