Where is Berks County?
Berks County is one hour west of Philadelphia, PA. It is more known for being the county where Reading is located (the outlet capital of the western world). Berks County can be reached by taking the PA turnpike to exit 22 - Morgantown ext - then taking Rt. 176 north. It also have Rt. 78 running through the northern part of the county . As well, Rt. 724 , 422, and 222 pass through the county.
Who are BerksBARDS?
BerksBARDS have been around for a mere 4 months. The first crop of poets involved with this event are Craig Czury, Dianne Miller, Erika Stanley, Jen Gittings Dalton, Rocky Balistieri, Kerry Lance Graul, Michael Clipman, Michael Rimm, Karen Blomain, Gina Stitzer, Heather Thomas, Dan Reed, Susan Kershner, and stevenallenmay.

Anyone who can attend in person can read, also if you wish to send poems and have them read please post them on the poetry page with a note.
Why do it in April?
April is National Poetry Month. This is our way of celebrating it.
What will happen once April is over?
The BerksBARDS are already planning events throughout the region to continue what BARDFEST99 will have begun. There is never too much poetry or too much art in the world. Keep checking this website to see what develops. Something will!
