Jesus Christ's mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph, her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. But after he had considered this, and angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit." She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.
All this took place to fulfill what the lord had said through the prophet: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"--which means
"God with us." (Matthew 1:18-23)
What's the true meaning of Christmas?
Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of God's Son who came to earth to save us from our sins, give us His love..which is never ending, His peace which surpasses all understanding, and to be our very best friend, one who will never leave us, one who feels hurt when we are hurt. He is all powerful, and all knowing..At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow of those in heaven and of those under the earth. He is the Alpha and Omega...The Beginning and the End!
Christmas is a time when we get together with family and friends and exchange gifts. These gifts that we exchange are only temporary..they will not last forever, but Jesus Christ offers a gift..the greatest gift of all..one that WILL last forever! And that is the gift of a new birth, being born again of His Spirit, a gift of eternal life.
This Christmas receive the gift that will last forever. Ask Jesus Christ into your heart. Let him lead you through lifes ways. He will be with you for eternity and will love you forever.
My biggest pet peeve of Christmas is people forgetting the true meaning of Christmas. Even the word "Christmas" is forgotton when people us "X-mas" .. Please.. remember the meaning of Christmas and never use X-mas because it really takes the true meaning out.
I dedicate this page to my Father who has shown me the true meaning of Christmas and who carried the lesson of using "Christmas" instead of "X-mas".
Thanks Dad !!!!
