What's Happening in Katy's Life?
Katy is now the only kid in the family still in high school. She's also the only one still living at home.
Cheerleading was part of Katy's life for three years while she was in middle school. Although she wasn't a cheerleader during her first year of high school, she was on the basketball cheerleading squad during her second year and most of her third. An injury at practice put an end to that, at least for this year.
Even if high school itself
has become a bore for her, she has had some exciting things happen in the past
year. First, she was in her brother Jon's wedding that
took place in Houston at the end of June. She was one of the bride's maids
and was definitely one of the wild ones (along with her cousin Lore) at the reception. Then, she went back to
Texas in July to
attend Kadesh, a sort of church-camp at
Abilene Christian University. This is her second year to do that and she
hopes she can attend this coming summer as well.
Speaking of the summer, Katy is also hoping to go again with her extended family to Hawaii. Her dad plays the condo-share game and the request we're making is for Hawaii but, as the game goes, you never know for sure what is going to happen.
