Welcome to my beautiful hometown of Duluth, MN. I was born and raised in this city, and even though I complain about the winters, I don't think I'd like to be anywhere else. After all, what would Christmas be without the snow?? So sit back, relax and enjoy the sites.
Duluth, MN is located at the western end of Lake Superior, and was first settled in 1852. It is the commercial, industrial, and cultural center of Northern Minnesota. It is also the second largest port on the Great Lakes. Duluth ships grain, iron ore, and bulk cargo all over the world. The discovery of iron ore in 1865 in the nearby Mesabi Range transformed the former timber-shipping port.
Here are just a few things that make the City of Duluth great:
Low housing and other living costs
Excellent health care and education
Lake Superior
Forests
Streams and waterfalls
Trout and salmon fishing
54 holes of municipal golf, plus two private courses
Spirit Mountain, a 22-run downhill and cross-country ski area
Ballet, symphony, playhouse and other cultural organizations
Lake Superior Zoological Gardens
Many other year-round recreational opportunities
But don't take my word for it....You have to check it out for yourself!!
