Thank you for a refreshing dose of humanity and faith. I was much in need. I have always felt I wanted a home birth with little, or if possible, NO intervenntion. I also look forward to breast feeding. In fact I don't even think I will ever own a bottle. don't believe in unwarrented interrvention (which is usually to protect doctor liability or because you are taking too long) I don't believe in formula, I don't believe in infant daycare. ( I am fortunate to have a loving husband who supports my desire t become a full time mother and is able to provide ) I don't believe in baby "must-haves" and "gadgets". I do believe in love, support, tenderness, and my faith in the lord. Oh yes, and I believe in cloth diapers. (for now anyway, we shall see. lol )

I have two daughters delivering new babies in the next week or two. One has been talking home birth and it is a bit scary for us. I'm just exploring a bit to get some perspective. It is a shame in a way that giving birth has become a lost "womanly art" but at the same time our children and grandchildren are precious to us and we hate the thought of any unneccessary risk taking.

I really enjoyed your website. I have 2 children with the third due in October. We tried to have our son at but he didn't quite co-operate. Our daughter was born at home in March of 1999. This baby is also going to be born at home. I believe that it s natural and that women have the strength to have babies this way, otherwise in our evolution there would have been a different way to have babies. My husband is very supportive of my birth plan. The difference between hopital births and homebirths is nbelievable. I wish more women would be able to see that they are able to deal with the labour on their own. My daughter was just shy of 9 pounds. I had a very tiny tear. I was doing laundry within 2 hours of her birth. I really admire women who beli ve that they can do this. It is such a miraculous event to be able to feel and see your baby being born without all the machines around. Instead to have people that you know and love around.

I enjoyed your page on home birthing! I have been researching it for almost 2 years now. We have 3 wonderful blessings right now and hope that it is God's will to have more! All of my births have been the same and the best was in a German hospital! Th y do not treat the experience of birth as a sickness and my husband and friend wore their street clothes! Dustin stayed with me for 2 hours before we went to post partum and they let me nurse him in stead of giving him sugar water! I am 5 ft 2 in tall a d have large babies- 8.5#, 9.10#(22inches)and 9#! I am thankful for the answer to prayer of not having a c-section. Any way I have learned so much about my births and how to avoid anemia and long labors and episiotomies and enimas, etc. I look forward o practicing what I have learned!
