Heineman Deming Home Page

It's December, 2007. I noticed (actually somebody who really cares noticed) that I haven't updated this page in a year. This has been a really big year too. So, to quote the Great One, Jackie Gleason, "and away we go!"

Greg continues as the manager of the Norfolk Social Security Office. Greg is now the President of the National Council of Social Security Management Associations (NCSSMA). He has also stayed involved with several community organizations, including Leadership Norfolk, Sacred Heart Parish, and Norfolk Visioning 2026 . Greg has also been involved with the new Social Security Performance Management System (PACS), which has made Greg very familiar with n Philadelphia.

Debbie continues as an instructor with the Northeast Community College Transitional English program. Debbie is the Treasurer of the Norfolk Public Schools Music Boosters organization. Technically, Greg is co-treasurer. What being co-treasurer means to Greg is that he gets to input fundraisng sales figures into Microsoft Money for children going on the Choir trip to Orlando. (FYI, Emily is in Choir this year.) Debbie continues to be one of the most active members of the Music Booster Organization, and it's a group that's important to both of us. We have learned all we ever wanted to know about selling fireworks, discount shopping cards, raffle tickets, and running concession stands. Debbie is also active in several other community activities.

Marypat is now 22. She continues to take classes, and works in her off hours in a Restaurant/Lounge in the Haymarket (aka party) section of Lincoln. She is practicing as much parenthood as we want her to in taking care of two cats, Muse and Gladiator. (Pictures are pending).

Katie is 20, and a Sophomore at Nebraska. I'm sure that anything we write her will embarass her, but the biggest news in Katie's life to us is that she was selected for a research project in Borneo this summer! Much further away from home that Dad and Mom have ever been!

Emily is 16. She is a sophomore at Norfolk High. She drives, and so far without incident. In fact, she took extended turns at the wheel during our summer vacation to Chicago, Findlay in Detroit this summer. Those of you who really know us know why those towns are in order besides the sequence they were visited. She plays trombone, and is active in speech and theater. She also bakes a mean Chocolate Chip Cookie!
