For Parents To Be




You've told me your beautiful secret
You've shared your most wonderful news.
Your hearts are so full of the marvelous love
And your dreams are at last coming true.

Now your body is sharing creation
And your love is fulfilling the truth
Your own family tree has been started for real
It is sprouting from you with new roots.

I'm excited to know of your secret
I am thrilled to be sharing your joy
I'll wait with you happily, hoping your hopes
While you plan for the girl or the boy.

And I'll wish you a world full of wonder
I will pray for you laughter, not tears
I'll dream with you dreams 
that all parents know
And I'll hope for you fun, never fears.

For the new life you'll cherish, I marvel
How lucky this wee one will be
To be sharing a world of two people in love
Who will open their arms to make three.

May God bless you and keep you in His sight
May He watch you and guard from above.
With His own special care, 
this is my special prayer
May He circle you all with His love.
