A Bond of Friendship

                    


I think I have some special thoughts
to share with you today
There are some most important things
To you I want to say.



Sometimes this life we live
Can be so very grave
We stumble through it fearfully
And what mistakes we've made.



We try to figure out the ways
And try so hard to please
Bewildered, troubled, so confused
Does this sound like you and me?



Oh yes, but that was yesterday
Before we knew the way
Before the most important one
Reached down with His bright rays.



And doesn't it seem strange dear friend,
That He led me to you.
And that somehow we just were friends
And that somehow we knew
That we could help each other
And would know just what to say
To cheer each other with His love
To brighten up those days.



We've praised the Lord together
For he formed a bond of trust.
He led me to your door for you
And gave that bond to us.



I praise Him now and thank Him for
Your friendship, found and measured.
Dear sister in the Lord of God
Your friendship I will treasure.
