        LEONARD PELTIER

Welcome and thanks for stopping by to visit!

This is July 6,2000 and I would like to introduce our first "Notable Native".His Name is Leonard Peltier and he is a true warrior of our time. We invite you to read his story by clicking on the links provided below.

We also ask that you FAX, CALL AND WRITE: The White House,Washington, D.C., your Representatives in Congress and take a stand for justice and honor.

Join us and help free Leonard Peltier!!

        March 26, 2001

The Presidential Election of 2000 has come and gone and Leonard Peltier was NOT granted clemency by the outgoing President William J. Clinton. According to news reports, several friends and family of the Clintons are now out of jail and pardoned, with some serving only minimal time of their imposed sentences for their crimes. Somehow, I fail to see the justice in all of this.

Please continue your support for his justified freedom.

        DOING TIME

        "Doing time creates a demented
        darkness of my own imagination...

        Doing time does this thing
        to you. But, of course,you
        don't do time.

        You do without it. Or
        rather,time does you.

        Time is a cannibal that
        devours the flesh of your
        years.

        day by day,bite by bite".

        THE CODE TALKERS

It is July 27, 2001 and our second Notable Natives are very close to my heart for several reasons. Prior to World War II, these young Navajo men were forced to live away from their families in Native boarding schools where they were punished for speaking in their own language. Just yesterday these courageous men were finally honored for their contributions to our country's quest for freedom in World War II. My husband served his country in the Pacific Island of Bougainville, during the same period of time. He was a Communication Specialist while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, 3rd Marine Division and the 6th Defense Batallion.

His personal observations about the Navajo Code Talkers were given with respect and admiration, coupled with a sense of gratitude for their skills and contributions to the war effort.

Please read their story here and also visit the links provided for more information.
