Mom: Kiki Hall
Baby: John William
Weight: 7 lbs. 6 oz.
Height: 20 inches
Date: March 17, 1998
Time: 12:38 am
Birth: VBAC at 35 1/2 weeeks.
On Sunday at about 3:00 am my water broke and of course I totally freaked out because I was only 35 1/2 wks. Contractions were more like Braxton Hicks but regular. I was given the choice to do the section or try a vbac. My dr said that if it got too intense that I could always do the section. So I decided to give it a try. Since he was 5 wks early they thought that I could deliver him ok. My dr was GREAT! He ordered me some demerol to relax me enough to get things to a point that I gould get an epidural. He even ordered me the epidural earlier than normal (I was only at 2 cm) hoping that if I relaxed enough that I would progress farther. Well, with the help of some pitocin I finally made it to 10 cm. I pushed for almost an hour and then at 12:38 am on 3/17 John William Chaltas Hall made his grand entrance.
There is NO comparing this delivery to my daughter's. I was gently nudged in the direction of a VBAC and I am SO GLAD that I made the decision! I feel great and am much more mobile 2 days after delivery.
Oh, John William was/is 7lbs 6oz and 20 inches long. He is still in special care nursery, but only for an elevated bilirubin count. Hopefully, he'll come home tomorrow (Friday) , but realistically I expect that he'll be discharged on Saturday.
Hope everyone has as good birth expierence as I did. Good Luck to you all!
