Genealogy Page
I have always taken great pride in having descended from pioneers on all sides of my family.  Both my parents ancestors came to Kentucky in the very early 1800's or earlier.
My GGGGrandfather  William Carr  settled in Kentucky in the 1790's.

Only within the last couple of years have I seriously done much research into the family tree.  I have been extremely lucky because others have done much research before me, so most of my job has been just getting the information  into my computer.  I have been using Brother's Keeper genealogy program and now have over 1500 names in my tree.  Some of my surnames are Agee, Chester, Davenport, Carr, Ezell, Garrett, Gardner, Gourley, Joiner, Robertson, Cayce, Morrow, Chester, Joiner, Rogers, Shelton, Slaughter, Suggett, Taylor, Weathers, Wester, and many others.

At least one of my relatives reached worldwide fame.  He was Edgar Cayce, The Sleeping Prophet about whom many books have been written over the years.  He could go into a trance and diagnose illnesses and treatments for people hundreds or thousands of miles away.  In his lifetime he gave over 14,000 readings which were transcribed and are still on file today at the Association of Research and Developement in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
He was my grandmother's second cousin.
