For Richer, For Poorer, In Sickness and in Health. I do. Or do I?

What words can be said for someone who has lost his soul. When a man's dreams are tried in the court of apathy? The judge is an indifferent one, who does not look at the law or promises, but by feelings that blow in the wind. How can a man control the wind? How can a man reason with those who do not believe in reason?

The man is in a trap. A trap to watch helplessly as his home is stripped away from him. To watch helplessly as the children he loves will one day face the pain that is not believed in. What is the man's crime? Why will innocent have to suffer? Because a promise is only as good as the feeling that was felt when it was made. Because the evidence of hope is of no consequence.

I will buy you a big house, way up in the west hills, I will buy you a garden, where your flowers can grow, I will buy you a new life.... and I did.

I will take our new house, where my flowers can grow, I will take your care and when it grows old, when you are worn, like old familiar shoes, then it's time to move on, to something exciting and new, because I don't believe, don't believe the way you do. I only believe what I feel is true.

Fire gone cold
My bed is cold where you once layed
My heart is empty where you once stayed
Your love left you, and where I don't know
but it's obvious to me by the lack of emotion you show

What was my crime? Did I give you too much?
How did you grow tired of true love's touch?
I am the same person you once took as your man
The same one you said, "by you I will stand."

But little by little your fire grew cold
and it could not be lit, because no one was told
and when it was gone, the truth finally came out
but it feels too late, to do anything about

I stand by the hearth with a match in my hand
desperately trying to light it again
but the fireplace is empty, not a twig in sight
but I still can't give up, I will keep up the fight.
