Fruit Cake Lizzies
2 lbs candied cherries, chopped 1 tsp ground cinnamon
2 lbs candied pineapple, chopped 1 tsp ground allspice
1 lb dark raisins 1 tsp ground nutmeg
1 lb golden raisins 1 tsp ground cloves
6 cups pecans, chopped 1 & half cups firmly-
packed dark brown sugar
4 to 6 cups All-purpose flour 1 & half cup butter,
softened
1 tablespoon soda 1 cup bourbon whiskey
3 tablespoons milk
Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl; dredge fruit with enough flour to coat; set aside. Combine remaining dry ingredients; set aside. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy in a large mixing bowl; add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add bourbon, milk, and dry ingredients, mixing well. Add fruit mixture to batter; mix well with hands. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 275 degrees for 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
Yield: about 6 dozen.

Whiskey Balls
1 lb vanilla wafers 2 cups chopped nuts
2 tsp cocoa & a dash of salt
half cup whiskey 4 tsp white Karo Syrup
Mash wafers, mix with cocoa, nuts, whiskey, & syrup. Form balls and roll in powdered sugar. Store in airtight container. The longer they sit the more potent they become!

Pecan Crispies
2 & half cups sifted all-purpose flour
half cup shortening
half cup butter or margarine half cup teaspoon soda
2 & half cups brown sugar half cup teaspoon salt
2 beaten eggs 1 cup chopped pecans
Cream shortening, butter, and sugar. Add eggs; beat well. Sift dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture. Add nuts. Drop from teaspoon about two inched apart onto greased cookie sheet. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
Bake 5 dozen.
