I have chatted to Sue on the Internet since 1995. Sue has been a somewhat of a mentor to me as I began launching into my library career at age 28. Sue is a library technician with 30 years experience, and of particular interest to me, a very experienced music cataloguer at Queens University. Sue also loves photography and has sent me some wonderful images of Ontario, the most memorable being the snow covered automobiles outside her brick apartment building in the middle of a cold Canadian winter. Unfortunately I do not have that image to show you as I was running out of space on my computer and had to delete it. When I go travelling one day to the United States and Canada I will definitely stop in and say hello to Sue - it will be intriguing to meet her after all these years of correspondence! |

Pete is a librarian and amateur astronomer from Sydney Australia. I started chatting to Pete on the Internet in 1998 about different things, especially libraries. Pete's knows a lot about computer systems in libraries and has a very positive attitude towards the information sector. He says that his career has been unusual - coming from computer programming into librarianship. Pete has been a cataloguer, systems librarian, reference librarian, and since 1997 establishing a library for The New South Wales Department of Corrective Services. You can find a link to Pete's library through the Australian Libraries Gateway. At the Gateway search at NLA type the NUC symbol: NCOR:MR. | ![]() |
Judith (the one on the left) lives about 3 hours drive from me, and I have promised her I will visit when I have a free weekend (almost never *sigh*). I love practising my Spanish with Ju, but I have to admit that I'm very lazy and don't do it enough! Judith likes horses, dancing, and is studying to be a diversional therapist. The other two in the photo are her mum, and daughter Ros. |

George is a tall, muscley Peruvian guy that I chat to sometimes on the Internet and we have met in Brisbane to talk about music and different things also. The next time we get together is supposed to be Pizza at his place. George is originally from where I was born - Melbourne, and he tells me that he plans to go back there one day. He tells me there is a Latin American music, arts, and community festival in Melbourne in November and we are thinking of going to that. Here is a favourite song from one of George's CDs that he lent me, El Condor Pasa. By the way, that is him catapulting thorugh the air below (click on the pic to visit George's page): |

I first began playing music in my local church with Dannywhen I was but 11 years old. I used to play trumpet and arrange the music, and Danny played the violin like he was trying to saw it in half. He never succeeded but made a lot of beautiful music with that violin. I have since given up the trumpet, but still write music. I suppose I should call this guy Doctor James, because he has a PhD in geophysics, or something like that, trying to saw rocks in half with radio waves. |
