The Queen knocks quietly on the door. There is shuffling from inside, and then suddenly the door is swung open. A woman with black hair and eyes in purple robes with white trim stands there. At the sight of the queen she smiles a little and says,
"Good dai, Adeline."
The Queen is not at all affected by the use of her personal name, as you thought she would be. "Hello, Marie. Meet our visitor."
Introductions are made, and you find Marie is actually more friendly than you would have guessed, despite her dark, menacing apperance. She tells you that it helps with people wanting her to use her magic to help them with silly problems.
"Young girls want love potions; students want something to do their homework for them; old folks want elixers to grow back their hair. I get requests that would waste a lot of my time and energy when I could be doing much more important things, like teaching my students," she sighed.
At that very moment a girl walks into the open doorway. She sees that the Head Mage is not alone, and is slightly embarrassed. "Ah, Master Marie," she stammers, "I did not realize you had company--"
"It's quite all right, Felicia," Marie says. "Come right in. This is my prized student, Felicia. When it is time she will take my place as Head Mage."
Felicia seems to be only about fifteen, a little young for such a high position, but you assume she has years of training to go.
"I'm very sorry to disturb you, Master Marie, your Majesty," she says hesitantly, "but one of the MagicBonded students is having trouble with the Bond and Master Rita is not able to help him. They need you right away."
Marie is obviously exasperated. "They can't do anything without me. By the Lady--I'm very sorry, but I have to go--"
"It's all right," you say. And with a grimace Marie rushes out the door, Felicia right behind her.
"Ah, well," the Queen sighs, "I guess we'll have to go on. At least you were lucky enough to meet her. Well, lets continue on, shall we?"
