VIDEO QUALITY RATING SYSTEM
PERFECT: This denotes that I own the master copy of a commercially produced videotape. Only store bought, commercially produced tapes will recieve this denotation.
EX: An EX rating denotes that the tape is a master from a PPV or TV telecast, or is a first generation copy of a commercial tape - on occasion, I will receive a tape that does not meet those requirements, but is still an EX tape; however, that's rare . . . .
VG: VG means that the tape may be 2nd generation, or recorded in SLP mode, which usually deteriorates the VQ of a tape - a VG tape is free of tracking or audio problems, it is simply apparent that the tape may be a bit older.
GD: GD is where the VQ starts to deteriorate a bit - a GD tape may have slight audio or tracking problems, or is of a substandard VQ in general - these tapes, however, are usually very watchable and enjoyable.
FAIR: Fair is usually a common rating on tapes where the picture jumps heavily, or is so old that the VQ and audio is seriously deteriorated - bad tracking, very low audio, or more than 3rd gen. tapes are usually of this quality.
POOR: Better have a bottle of ibuprofen handy after you've watched a Poor tape, 'cause you're gonna need it. A tape denoted by a Poor rating usually resembles a scrambled movie channel, or is so bad that you can't make out faces or other things. Poor tapes are only for hardcore fans, and are so bad that you may feel the need to vomit after watching it . . . .
