Do you want to be a KEY Fan?

I love the Packers. I love everything about the Packers starting with there stadium and ending with a Gilbert Burger. Ever since I was young I've been in love with the Packers. Coming through Elementary School and on through Middle School I never really met anyone else who had this intense love for Packer Football. This year I have met a trio of KEY fans who share my love for the game. There names in ranking order are, tied for first - Mike Schaller and Dan Leeder, in a close second is Paul Butler. Mike, Dan, and I started the whole KEY fan stuff during the preseason of 1997. We have made outlines on how to become KEY fans and our own KEY fan accomplishments. We opened our arms to other KEY fan hopefuls. We told them everything they had to do, which included writing an essay on the topic of our choice.

We had three people battling for one spot on our team. Paul wrote a good essay and got a good grade on his roadtrip*(see bottom of page) and also hosted a killer Packer party. Nate's essay could of used a spellchecker and a little common sense but overall it was good. Mark Mueller got F-'s on everything. His essay was good but I don't like him and he was a total jerk on our roadtrip. When it was all said and done the three KEY fans had to vote. Paul Butler came out victorious.

Now there are differences between us four guys. I go to games because my parents take me with them. Mike, Dan, and Paul go to games using there own hard earned cash. Don't get me wrong, if I had to pay for my tickets, I would. Mike Schaller is a fired up kind of guy. He likes to get in 3-point stances when his back will let him, and he has some great hands. Dan Leeder is very intense. I have to credit Dan Leeder with the conception of the word KEY. If it weren't for Dan we wouldn't be here today. Paul Butler is the kind of guy who wants to be just like me, ha-ha. He likes to get in three point stances as much as the next guy but he always loses.

*Our road trip was to the Green Bay divisional playoff game vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As you read above, Paul got a good grade on his Road Trip. What got him that good grade was a little prank he pulled, with the help of Key Fan Dan, on Mark Mueller(pronounced "Miller"). Our room was dark and you couldn't see. Paul goes into the bathroom and fills a bucket up with water. Mark was sleeping on the floor so he couldn't really hear anything. Paul comes out a "splash" he soaks Mark's sleeping bag and my whole bed. Then Mark gets up and slams Butlers head against the wall. This was one of my favorite parts of the whole trip.
