Player Profile
Brian Kupferschmidt
# 22 Electric Bobcats
Brian has been playing with the Electric Bobcats for the past four years. Hockey has taught him to be a team player. He recognizes that meeting the challenge of losing is just as important as winning. Brian enjoys the physical aspect and acknowledges that the workout builds his strength although he feels the effects the following morning.
Hockey teaches you to work in a team environment and skills like communication and interpersonal skills learned can be used in everyday situations. Initiative is also vital to the game as is the respectful way players treat each other on and off the floor.
Brian enjoys meeting new players from other divisions, comparing game styles, and generally socializing with players and volunteers. The National Championships is a wonderful opportunity to share experiences and create lifelong friendships.
"It is important to remember that hockey is run by volunteers. Without them we would not be able to participate in this great sport. Everyone is vital to the success of wheelchair hockey - from the operations manager to the person who screws the stick to the wheelchair. Hockey would be greatly missed in our community ~ it gets people out and involved in a great Canadian Sport."
