Despite frigid air and water temperatures around 59 degrees, I was very happy to finish in 8th place in this difficult race. I started the 1 mile swim with some cramps, due to the freezing water that did slow me down. The 26 miles bike course was hilly and the 6.2 run was enough to accomplish my goal to finish top 10. I was the fourth American to cross the finish line, and for that I qualified for the 2008 World Championship in Canada . b>
